Sally Hansen Magnetic Nail Color

A product review for the Sally Hansen Magnetic Nail Color that I received in the Influenster Summer Beauty VoxBox.

As I said in my past post on Sally Hansen, Sally Hansen is my absolute favorite brand of nail products. I literally do not buy anything else. In the spring I received the Sally Hansen Salon Effects and I loved them. So I was very excited to try out this product, expecting the usual greatness that is Sally Hansen nail products.
I received this product in the shade Ionic Indigo. It is a really pretty navy color. But, since it is a little too dark for my usual summer manicure, I used it on my toes. It came out beautiful! The magnet effect is really cool looking. I think it would look even better on finger nails because finger nails are longer, and my toes are a little too wide for the magnet to work on the whole nail.  I used it on my ten year old sisters toes too, and it looked great! She loved it!
You have to paint a coat of polish, wait for that to dry, then paint another one. Quickly, before the second coat dries, you hover the provided magnet over your nail for ten seconds without touching it. This creates the really cool magnet effect. To make your nail color last longer, you should follow up with some kind of top coat.

That is the nail polish I received, as well as the pedicure I did myself with it. Excuse my ugly toes. I am really glad that I got this product, because I had been thinking about trying it out for awhile now, I just didn't have the money. Now I'm glad I know how it works, so I can decide if I want to buy another color. And I think I do! The reddish one looks very pretty! I received this complimentary through Influenster’s VoxBox program.
The product's suggested retail price is $9.99. Find it, and more, at SallyHansen.com!
Thanks!

Hawaiian Tropic Silk Hydration Lotion Sunscreen

A product review for the Hawaiian Tropic Silk Hydration Lotion Sunscreen that I received in the Influenster Summer Beauty VoxBox.

When I received this product, I was very excited. I am currently in the process of finding a sunscreen I like since I have now begun buying my own. I live in a house full of children so I have always used spray on kids stuff, but since I started college I have needed to buy my own sunscreen. So I was very excited to try this out to see if I like it.

The above picture is the exact product I received in my Summer Beauty Box. SPF 30, 12-hour long lasting Lotion Sunscreen. I usually use SPF 30 or SPF 15 when I want a tan, so I was happy to receive something that I could and would make use of. First off, this sunscreen smells delicious. It's almost a coconut or vanilla smell, it does not smell gross like normal sunscreen. There is a faint sunscreen smell, but it is so faint it doesn't even matter!
Applying this product is a breeze. It smooths in very nicely over skin. When they say Lotion Sunscreen, they mean it. It feels silky like lotion and it protects my skin like sunscreen. It apparently has hydrating silk ribbons that nourish your skin. It provides broad spectrum UVA and UVB protection and 12-hour moisturization. I put this on when I first go out in the sun and it lasts for hours. It is not very oily, despite being so silky. I even apply it to my face!

That's a picture of my Hawaiian Tropic Sunscreen with my beach things! It even looks like a summer product! I am out of my sample, unfortunately, so I'm going to have to run out and buy some more so I can continue to use it to protect and hydrate my skin. It comes in 12, 30, and 50 SPF, so whatever protection you want, you can get! I was lucky to receive this complimentary product through Influenster’s VoxBox program because now I know what sunscreen to use!
According to Influenster's website, you can buy this product at most major retailers at $8.99 for a 6oz bottle. Look for this product and more at HawaiianTropic.com!
Thanks!

Missing People

Hey All,
Lately, I've been thinking a lot about all of the people I miss. The people who have, for some reason, drifted out of my life. We all have these people, it is virtually impossible to keep in touch with everyone through out our lives, even with Facebook. But it still really stinks when you realize that you no longer have the relationship that you used to have with someone.
I went to a private high school, so when I changed schools, I left behind a lot of middle school friends. I have managed to keep in touch with two of them. Then, when I graduated high school, I have kept in touch with about two people from there. Now, even though I am still in school with these people, I find myself drifting off during the summer. It is just so hard to make that effort. It's not like writing the message or picking up the phone is hard, it's knowing what to say and how to say it.
You don't know what you mean to this person anymore. You don't want to seem too comfortable, or too awkward. Sometimes you don't even have anything to say but "Hi!" but you feel that saying only that is not enough. I don't know if all of this is just me, or if others feel this way. But all I do know is that it stinks.
Not only do I have these former school friends, but I have friends I have met online or at camps or during programs. People from camps you know you are leaving, and you all tell each other "Keep in touch!" But few do. These people, you may have only known for a week, so it feels even weirder to reach out after a long time.
Then you have the people you were super close to. The people you feel guilty about not keeping in touch with. So you don't contact them because you feel bad, and then you put more time between you, and it just becomes a viscous cycle. These are the people I have specifically been thinking off lately. I see them post on Tumblr or on Facebook and I just want to scream "Come back to me!" but I don't know how. I hate losing friends. Well, in a way I haven't lost them, I'm sure these people would be here for me if I needed them. I know I would be there for them.
I guess what I'm saying is that I don't know how to reach out to people I miss or want to contact again. Maybe I'm just socially awkward, maybe they don't like me anymore, or maybe they are having the same problem. So I'm going to try and reach out more, because I want to. And I think you guys should to.
Much Love,
Jenna
P.S. Friends I miss, or friends who miss me. Hint. Hint.

Rewatching MLP:FIM: Season 1, Episode 2 - Friendship is Magic, Part 2 (Elements of Harmony)

The Elements of Harmony
Episode: Friendship Is Magic, Part 2 (Elements of Harmony) (Season 1, Episode 02)
Rainbow accuses Twilight of being a spy!
The Everfree Forest
Summary: Nightmare Moon has returned to Equestria and she has declared that the ponies shall now live in eternal night. Twilight Sparkle and her new friends must now set out to find the Elements of Harmony so they can defeat Nightmare Moon. During their quest, each of the ponies displays the power of each Element of Harmony they represent. Applejack is Honesty, Pinkie Pie is Laughter, Fluttershy is Kindness, Rarity is Generosity, Rainbow Dash is Loyalty, and Twilight Sparkle is Magic. They discover the elements within themselves and use them to defeat Nightmare Moon.
Applejack shows the Element of Honesty
New Realizations: Applejack is always grabbing Rainbow Dash's tail, both in this part and the part 1. It makes me think that these two are friends already, whereas I always thought the other members of the Mane Six were not very close until Twilight Sparkle arrived. Throughout the episode, Twilight Sparkle gets more and more used to the idea of having friends. It's kind of cute to watch as each of the Mane Six makes an impact on her. Also, just to put it out there. The dragon with the cut mustache is the most ridiculous obstacle ever. I love how panicked ponies just run back and forth, it happens in episodes in the future too. When Twilight disappears, all the ponies just run back and forth. I know it is supposed to look like they are looking for her, but it just looks silly to me. I also love how confused and then pleased each pony looks as Twilight gives them their element.
Fluttershy uses the Element of Kindness
Character Development: Seeing as this is the second part of the very first episode, there is a lot of character development. Unlike part one, the rest of the Mane Six is developed as opposed to just Twilight Sparkle. Each pony displays the power of their element and thus shows a very important part of their personality. Memorable
Pinkie Pie laughing
Memorable Quotes:
"And how did you know about Nightmare Moon, huh? Are you a spy?" - Rainbow Dash
"The Elements of Harmony: A Reference Guide." - Pinkie Pie
"How did you find that?" - Twilight Sparkle
"It was under E!" - Pinkie Pie
"We're sticking to you like caramel on a candy apple." - Applejack
"Especially if there are candy apples in there. ... What? Those things are good!" -Pinkie Pie
"Sorry girls. I'm not used to holding anything more than a bunny or two." - Fluttershy
"Tell me she's not." - Twilight Sparkle
"She is." - Rarity
"I simply cannot let such a crime against fabulousity go uncorrected." - Rarity
"You little foal. Thinking you could defeat me!" - Nightmare Moon
"I'm so sorry! I missed you so much big sister!" - Princess Luna
"Hey! Do you know what this calls for? A party!" - Pinkie Pie
"My mustache!"
Ratings:
Lesson: This is what the entire series is about. Making friends! Everyone should be open to making new friends. 10/10
Humor: As usual, there are some good one liners. But it's still the intro episode. 7/10
Held Interest: Definitely held my interest! 8/10
Song(s): "Giggle at the Ghosties" - This is one of my favorite songs in the series so far. It is super cute! 8/10
Overall: As I said before. Always a classic. 9/10
Rainbow Dash tries to be loyal
Kiki's Thoughts (A Nine Year Old's POV): Kiki was glad to move right along to this part after the first part, she really seemed to be into the show. Either that or being able to do something with her big sister was exciting to her, I think I am one of the reasons she got into ponies in the first place. Look at me, making little pony fans! Anyway, she wasn't too talkative throughout this episode; I think she was into it. She did wonder where Spike went halfway through the episode, forgetting that Twilight put him in bed. She really seems to like Spike, I'm not sure why. At the very end she asked about Luna again, she was wondering why she was so small. I explained it to her by saying all of Luna's magic was gone, but it would come back and then she would get big again. Then she went on to talk about how Celestia is supposedly 1000 years old so Luna must be 999 years old. Haha. Then, when Pinkie Pie decided to have a party she said that there were too many parties in this episode (lumping part 1 and part 2 together). I told her that there were many more parties to come.

The "Nice Guy" Complex

Hai Gaiz,
I was on Tumblr today, like every other day, and I came across another post about the whole "Nice Guy" thing. People are always saying things like "the nice guy finishes last" and "girls say they want a nice guy, but they really go after the bad boys" and stuff like that. Well my opinion on all of that is that it's all a load of bullshit. Bull. Shit. Plain and simple.
First off, who is defining this "nice guy?" The "nice guys" themselves! They complain about how they hang out with girls they like, and act like their friends, and then get "friend-zoned" because of it. Well yeah! You're hanging out with a girl, making no indication that you like her, acting like her friend, and you get upset when she sees you as such? I have a problem with the whole "friend-zone" concept to begin with. How are we supposed to know when a guy likes us when you act like our friend? But that's another story.
Anyway, my point is that these "nice guys" are usually not nice guys. They just think they are because they aren't the typical douchebag. They are a more subtle douchebag. A douchebag who feels like he is entitled to a woman because he is her friend. That isn't a real nice guy. A real nice guy doesn't mind being just the friend of a girl he likes. A real nice guy will comfort a female friend, or any friend, without expecting anything in return. Ever. A real nice guy will act totally okay if his female friend decides to date someone else, even if he likes her. He will tell her if he thinks the guy isn't good for her, only because he wishes to protect her, not because he wants to break them up. And you tell me that these guys don't exist? Well, you're wrong. I know a few. I'm dating one.
And that takes me to my other point. Not all girls want to date the "bad boys," no sir. I have never been interested in a bad guy, sometimes I'm interested in guys who are too nice. A guy who seems at all "bad" to me sends me running. No, they are not attractive to me. No, the danger of a bad boy does not wet my whistle. And no, their rebellious attitude is not sexy. I'm not saying the appearance of the guy is at all an indicator. It's when you get to know a guy, you can usually tell a nice guy and a bad guy from one another, and a douchebag "nice guy" from a real nice guy if you have any observational skills at all. In general, "bad boys" are not exactly grade A man meat. And I know for a fact I am not the only girl who thinks this way. You say girls are looking in the wrong place, maybe you guys are looking at the wrong girls. Ever think of that?
And this applies to both males and females. Girls complain that they can't find the right guy because they aren't looking in the right places. (I know a lot of girls like this.) And then, as explained above, guys complain that the girls they like don't like them back and that they can't find anyone. Well they are looking in the wrong places too. I think a lot of people need to stop being shallow, or start opening up their minds to other kinds of people. You never know who you might find. So yeah, this was a slightly better thought out rant. Hope you enjoyed. XD
Much Love,
Jenna

Rewatching MLP:FIM: Season 1, Episode 1 - Friendship is Magic, Part 1 (Mare in the Moon)

Princess Celestia and Princess Luna
Episode: Friendship Is Magic, Part 1 (Mare in the Moon) (Season 1, Episode 01)
Spike is adorable when he is confused
Applebloom is best pony
Summary: Twilight Sparkle learns of the Elements of Harmony and the impending return of Nightmare Moon. When she voices her concerns to Princess Celestia, the Princess just sends her away to Ponyville to check on the preparations for the Summer Sun Celebration. She also tells her to make some friends. Twilight stumbles upon some unusual ponies during her time in Ponyville. She meets Pinkie Pie, Applejack, Rainbow Dash, Rarity, and Fluttershy for the first time. But they all distract her from the task at hand, finding out more about Nightmare Moon and how to stop her.
Rainbow Dash being cute
New Realizations: You can tell that the voice actors are learning about their characters here. They don't seem as comfortable as they do in the season finale of season 2, for obvious reasons. Anyway, things about the episode, when Spike takes a letter for Twilight Sparkle for the first time in the beginning of the episode he has some trouble spelling words. This is kind of endearing to me, but they didn't keep that up after this episode as far as I can remember. I thought it was cute. I love that throughout the episode Twilight is so adverse to even the word friends; she won't even give it a chance. After two seasons you can definitely see how Twilight has grown from where she is in this episode. Rainbow Dash, she has a wing boner the entire episode, so it seems. Pretty funny. Also, after Rainbow clears the sky and Twilight stares in awe, her face looks a bit like a goat. And if you listen, they play a goat sound. I laughed when I noticed it. Haha. Shy Fluttershy is so cute. I had forgotten about that. Nightmare Moon has a pretty legitimate evil laugh.
This made me laugh
Character Development: All of the characters were introduced in this episode. But the only one who was really developed was Twilight Sparkle. The other members of the mane six only had a little bit of on screen time for a quick first impression. But for a first episode, it was all that was needed. A quick introduction, just the way Twilight would meet these ponies. But having seen these episodes before, I know they are saving the development of the other five for part 2.
Shock!
Memorable Quotes:
"Does that pony do anything except study? I think she's more interested in books than friends." - Random Pony
"But you simply must stop reading those dusty old books!" - Princess Celestia
"But the fate of Equestria does not rest on me making friends." - Twilight Sparkle
"Soup's on everypony!" - Applejack
"Ugh. I ate too much pie." - Twilight Sparkle
"My very own patented, Rainblow Dry." - Rainbow Dash
"Hey! I could clear this sjy in ten seconds flat." - Rainbow Dash
"Prove it." - Twilight Sparkle
"Emerald! What was I thinking? Let me get you some rubies!" - Rarity
"What do dragons talk about?" - Fluttershy
"Well, what do you want to know?" - Spike
"Absolutely everything." - Fluttershy
"Libraries are supposed to be quiet." - Twilight Sparkle
"Cause I know everypony, and I mean everypony in Ponyville." - Pinkie Pie
"Remember this day little ponies, for it was your last. From this moment forth, the night will last forever!" - Nightmare Moon
Pinkie Pie makes silly faces
Ratings:
Lesson: No lesson yet, it's only part 1! But Twilight seriously needs some friends. --/10
Humor: Twilight Sparkle meeting all her future friends is pretty funny. Especially when you know what is to come in the next two seasons. 8/10
Held Interest: Definitely held my interest, as it should being the first episode! 8/10
Song(s): No song this episode! --/10
References: Not a lot of references, but it /is/ the first episode so I'll give them a break. 7/10
Overall: Always a classic. 9/10
Ponyta?
Kiki's Thoughts (A Nine Year Old's POV): Kiki seemed to be a fan of this episode. Prior to watching this episode she had only seen the season finale of season 2, "Ticket Master" and "Applebuck Season." So she did not know how Twilight Sparkle ended up in Ponyville and how she became friends with the other ponies. She was confused as to why Spike liked Rarity so much, which I thought was funny. Seeing as kid shows always have that one shallow relationship, I thought she would get that. I think she just thought more of Spike and his standards. Haha. (Meaning Spike should not like someone just based on Beauty.) At the end of the episode she asked me if the mane six were friends yet. She also wanted to know more about Nightmare Moon since she already knew about Luna, I told her to wait. Haha.
The CMC's aren't friends yet!

"God"

Hey Everyone,
So this might be a bit heavy for a casual blog hopper who may be reading this, but I really feel like getting these thoughts off my chest right now. I just have a lot of feelings about this particular subject and I want to talk about it. This is in no way formal, just a few of my thoughts that I need to get down somewhere. I want to talk about "God."
The reason I put "God" in quotes is because I'm not necessary referring to God in the Christian sense, or in any specific religious sense. Let me start by telling you that I am Pagan. I am a studying eclectic Celtic Neo-Pagan, only practicing minimally. I have been studying solo for a little over three years now, and I still have so much to learn. I don't think I'll be able to refer myself as practicing with confidence until I am at least part of a coven. Now let me explain what my type of Paganism entails. I cannot speak for every Pagan, so do not take this article as thus. Every Pagan is different and believes in different things, but we all believe in the divinity of the Earth. I personally have a dualist view. I believe in a Mother Goddess and a Father God who represent all the feminine and masculine aspects of the Earth respectively. And that's enough information for now, maybe I'll get into it more in another post.
So the point of this post is to talk about "God." For me, my God and Goddess represent all forms of deities that anyone prays to. I just pray to them in this form, other pray to them in another form. Thus, I have no reason to think that my God and Goddess are any better or more worthy than your deities, because your deities are aspects of mine. I do not want to toot my own horn, but I often wonder why others do not think in this way. Just because your God has one name and someone else's has another, is there no way that they can be the same?
And then you get into some religions that recognize the fact that they worship the same God, but think that everyone else is doing it wrong. Religions such as Christianity, Judaism and Islam. That is something I do not understand. How can you worship a God wrong? Why would a God spell out how you should worship them to some people one way, and then change it for others? That makes no sense to me. Shouldn't we be happy that people are worshiping a God in the first place! And the same one, for these religions. (I have no problems with Atheists, just to clarify.)
I guess my biggest problem is people thinking their God or deity is better than anyone else's. That they worship them better, that their God loves them more, etc. What makes you so special that you know exactly what to do and God just loves the heck out of you for it? No one knows what to do. We're all just muddling through this religion thing, hoping we're doing it right.  I mean, I think  I am doing it right. When I feel the presence of the divine, I almost know I'm doing it right. But whose to say I'm not crazy? My point is, your God is no better than mine and you are no better than me for worshiping who you worship, and vice versa. I think everyone should just get along and respect each others beliefs. But we all know that's never going to happen.

Ethereal Lights

I used to help run this RP forum known as Ethereal Lights. I started it with two friends whom I had met on a different forum. For the time that I was on that site, it was my baby, I gave everything I could to it. When we first started the site, there was a lot of drama. I tried to be online as much as possible to deal with it. I would go on the forum during class even, during my senior year of high school. I think EL is one of the main reasons I got a 2 on my US history AP exam, a subject I had always been decent at. I had spent every class on the computer, not listening.
I sacrificed a lot for that website. I scrounged for members, spent late nights posting and responding to RPs. I nagged people for votes and nominations, I came up with ideas to keep the site alive. I helped a cross to a completely different host, then the cross back when that failed. I developed relations with the people I met on the website. I developed a near relationship once, possibly twice. I was even threatened by a member. I loved that website so much that even fear for my life wouldn't keep me away.
I cried over so many things that could have been avoided if it wasn't for EL. I gave everything to that place. And it was worth it. People seemed to like the little web haven I had helped create with the other admins and moderators. But when I started college and started taking time for school, a slow take over happened underneath me. A few falling outs between staff members, and me not being around. Well it all led to me eventually being kicked off the staff without warning. I was pissed. With everything I put into the site, you'd think they would at least keep me on staff.
And as I slipped away from the site, so did the reputation I had built for myself and now it is all but nothing. The site is run by others now, people who know not of the struggles I put into that website. The sacrifices I made for it. The tears I shed. Some of those people I do not like at all. People who do not deserved what they inherited. And it frustrates me to no end. All my hard work is being used by someone else. I want to rip out my hair thinking about it.
Some of the people who worked with me are still there. One of the original three admins still hangs around, but she too seems to be losing the light we once had there. She won't even respond to a message I sent her online. This was once someone I considered one of my best friends. And she is gone from my life, so it seems. I hate how things change so much sometimes.

Happy Birthday Josh!!!

Hey Everyone,
So today is my boyfriend's birthday, this is pretty exciting stuff. He turned 22 today which is probably one of the least eventful birthday years of anyone's life. After 21 it all seems downhill when it comes to birthday fun anyway. I'll be 21 in September, which is pretty exciting. But this isn't about me.
I wanted to take this moment to talk about my boyfriend and our relationship. I feel like the romance portion of our relationship started around this time last year, when I sent him a birthday card. We had been texting for months beforehand and becoming very  close friends, but no one pushed the line until I sent that card. I spent over an hour picking out the perfect card. I didn't want it to tell him that I liked him, but I also didn't want it to scream friend zone. So I chose a card that simply said "Smile!" We always told each other that the other made them smile, so it seemed perfect. Josh tells me now, that it was. That is helped him believe that we could really happen.
Well it did end up happening, nine days later. Our one year anniversary is on the 29th of July, which is pretty damn exciting. I have never been in a relationship for that long! (It's crazy to think someone could stay with me for so long! Probably because we're long distance and he doesn't see me. Haha.) So this is the time of year that I have naturally been looking back on the past year. It's been an absolutely amazing year. I couldn't have spent it with anyone better than him.
I don't really know what the point of this post was, but I felt the need to write it. I am so happy to have spent the last year as I have, and I am so happy that Josh and I are together now as opposed to being friends this time last year. I really do love him quite a lot. He has never stopped making me smile. I hope all of you can find your very own Josh. And never be afraid to take that leap of faith and send that card. You never know, it could just give the right person the nudge they need.
Much Love,
Jenna

Slacking, but Not Really

So it appears that I have been slacking, but that is not the case. I have finally been busy for a little bit. My boyfriend and I went to Bronycon this past weekend and I have since been staying at his house. So I have had little time to myself to blog. Instead I've been hanging with my best friend/ boyfriend. Which, no offense, is a little bit more interesting. Haha.
Well, in the future I will be doing some posts on specific things. I want to do a post on Bronycon. I also want to review Avatar: The Last Airbender, since I recently finished the series. I will also be posting my My Little Pony episode reviews on here. I got confirmation that I will be getting the Influenster Summer Spring Vox Box, so my reviews from that are going to be on here soon. I got a nanny job as well! So I will be a bit busy. But I will find time to blog for my non-existent followers.
That is all for now. I'm going to get back to listening to pony music with the boy and making red velvet cake. Hahaha.
Much Love,
Jenna

Spore.

So, I've been meaning to post but Spore has recently stolen my life. If you don't know what Spore is, you should. It is awesome. It's a computer game, but I also think they sell it for other systems. Anyway, it was Origin's (EA games online game database or whatever) one year anniversary this week. And t celebrate they gave all their members a free game out of a choice of three. I don't remember what the other two were because I instantly chose Spore. I had been wanting to play it forever and had been considering buying it, and here it was. For free!

So I downloaded it the other night and I have been playing it since. It is super fun. The concept of the game is that you are creating a sentient being of sorts. You start in the cell stage and you get DNA points to add things to your cell, like flagella and spikes. This helps your cell evolve. After cell stage you go into creature stage where you have to befriend or fight other creatures to gain DNA points and find parts to buy for your creature. That is my favorite stage so far. After that comes Tribal stage where you now control a tribe of these creatures and you must collect food and befriend or fight other tribes. I haven't gotten too far into Tribal mode yet. I keep creating new creatures to play in cell and creature mode instead. I think there are other modes after, but I forget what they are.
Either way, when I have free time I have been playing this game. I really enjoy it. And I got it for free! Ahh! Super awesome things in life. And now I might have a semi-regular babysitting job for July. Everything is falling into place. And yes, I'm thinking this because I got a game I wanted for free. Haha. Now I'm going to stop writing because my nails are too long and it is difficult to type. I need to cut them soon. Haha.
Much Love,
Jenna

Dr. Scholl's For Her Ball of Foot Cushions Review

Yet another product review, this time for Dr. Scholl's For Her Ball of Foot Cushions that I received in the Influenster Spring Beauty VoxBox.

I received the Dr. Scholl's For Her Ball of Foot Cushions recently and I love them! I used them on a pair of heels that usually give me grief and they feel great! I had never used any sort of foot cushion before, so it was a great first experience.

These cushions are placed right on the ball of the foot on the shoe, and they relieve the pressure that is usually there. They are super comfy and very easy to put on the shoes. I placed them on a pair of heels and they worked great! Usually I cannot wear a pair of heels all day, but these made it a lot easier.

Here's a picture of the product I received and the pair of heels that I wore them with. They worked great! I will definitely consider buying another pair for another pair of heels! My feet felt great!
There is not too much else to say about this product. It's very good thought. It's nice to see products catered toward us heel wearers! I received this complimentary product through Influenster’s VoxBox program. I'm very glad I got it!
According to the website this product is around $6.00. Look for this and more at drscholls.com.
Thanks!

Bath & Body Works Fine Fragrance Mist Review

Another product review for the Bath & Body Works Fine Fragrance Mist that I received in the Influenster Spring Beauty VoxBox.

I love Bath & Body Works! I use their lotion, body wash, perfume, and shower mist. Currently the scent I am using is dark kiss. I even use their Aromatherapy shampoo and conditioner in Energy. So naturally, I was excited to try out this brand new product.

I received this product in the scent Moonlight Path, a lavender based scent that I am familiar with. I once used it as my primary scent in the past. This product seems to be, to me, a combination of B&BW's shower mist and perfume. It combines the lightness of the shower mist with the long lasting power of the perfume. It is very light and does not threaten to overpower me with scent.
In the morning I like to spritz some of this into the air and quickly walk through it. Then, if I need extra scent I put it on the inside of my wrists and rub it in. But that is only if I really want to smell nice, like at an event or something. I do like this scent, but I think I want to go ahead and buy it in Dark Kiss which is my current scent of choice.

I really love Bath & Body Works products, I would recommend any of them to any one. They come in so many scents that there is something for everyone. They even have scents advertised for men now, so there really is something for everyone! This product just adds to the list of great products from this company. Definitely try it out. I received this complimentary product through Influenster’s VoxBox program, but I will buy more!
According to the website this product is $14.00, which is around what most of their products cost. Look for this and more at bathandbodyworks.com.
Thanks!

Study Abroad/ Off-Campus

So I have always had plans to study abroad in college. As many of you may know, I spent four months in India during my junior year of high school. So obviously, the idea is one that interests me. The program that I was particularly interested in was located in Tanzania in Africa. Well, this caused a lot of dispute among my parents. No one seemed to think it was a good idea.
First, it is in Africa. My Dad hears all these stories of girls like me being abducted and what not. Yes, it does happen. But the program I would be going on is very reputable and would keep me safe. Secondly, my parents have not been exactly happy with my grades. I was always an A or B student in high school. College has proven to be more difficult so I tend to get mostly B's and C's. And... in some cases (cough, Latin, cough) worse. So my GPA is not exactly shiny right now. My Mom doesn't want me to go far away because of that. She also does not want to "reward" me for not doing so well. And I don't blame her. Thirdly, I seriously need some work experience. No one will hire me! So that is something to consider.
When my Mom went college touring with my brother who is a junior in high school. One of the tour guides mentioned that she did a semester in Washington DC and interned. My Mom told me to look into it and see if my college was affiliated with any such programs. And to my delight, they are. I always knew I wanted to be off campus for a semester, but I had never really considered DC an option. But, when looking at it, it's a great opportunity. I've always wanted to spend time in DC, and it's not like I haven't already had the abroad experience.
I looked more into these programs and discovered one that involved the Environment in which you also take a trip for two weeks to Ghana. (If I went in the Spring like I plan to.) So I might still make it to Africa. Also, I would be able to intern with places I have always seen myself working with. Other programs also look awesome too. There are so many options, it is very exciting.
I am really glad I found this alternative. I think it will be good for me and I think it is a great compromise with my parents. I am super excited about applying. I'm talking to the study abroad office at my school today. I just wanted to share my excitement with everyone. I cannot wait to begin this process!

Jenna

Sally Hansen Salon Effects Review

Here is another product review, it's for Sally Hansen Salon Effects that I received in the Influenster Spring Beauty VoxBox.

First off, let me start by saying that I have always loved Sally Hansen nail products. Literally all of my nail polish is Sally Hansen band, I don't buy anything else. I think it is long lasting and comes in beautiful colors! But this isn't about their regular polish, this review is about one of their new, and might I say brilliant, product. Salon Effect Real Nail Polish Strips.

These strips come in all different patterns and colors, and they are so easy to use! You just peel the strip of polish off of it's backing, place it carefully on your nail to avoid wrinkles and then file it into shape! And they last for quick a while. I use my hands a lot, so manicures often ship rather quickly for me. This one lasted over a week, which only really happens when I get a professional manicure done.
I received the product in Animal Instinct, a hot pink zebra color. I liked the color, but I know there are patterns out there I like more. They have so many cool patterns, and they are still coming out with more! The one problem with the product is price, it can be a little pricey for a poor college student like me. But if you have a special occasion coming up and you want your nails to look fabulous without going to the salon, these are great!

Here is a picture of my empty box and my large looking leg, as well as a picture of someone else's Salon Effects manicure. Mine is already gone and I forgot to take a picture. Haha. The picture was found at thebudgetbabe.com.
This product is great! I cannot wait to try out different styles when I have the money. I love the one with the words on it, I think it is called Love Note or something. That one is super cute! There is enough provided that if you are careful, you can even have enough left over to do your toes as well! I'm glad I received this complimentary through Influenster’s VoxBox program so I could try it out first and know it is worth the money!
Check out this product and more at sallyhansen.com!
Thanks!

The Direction of the Blog

Hey Everyone!
I thought now that I am getting settled in this blog I should tell everyone what direction I am going in. And the answer is... every direction. Joking... sort of. I want to use this blog to talk about my daily life and thoughts, just like I did with my old blog. But, I also want to do some other things with this blog. I want to post product reviews, like I did earlier. I find those a lot of fun. I also want to post TV show and episode reviews. So new TV shows I watch could be seen here. I am currently doing episode reviews of My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic on my MLP Tumblr and I thought I might post those here as well. Really just anything I feel like, but it is really going to be an interesting mixture. My daily thoughts, political commentary, TV reviews, product reviews, fun websites I've found, and more. I hope you stick around for it! And tell your friends!
Much Love,
Jenna
P.S. I wanted to add that yes, there are supposed to be ads. I didn't think they got in the way of the blog and if I get enough viewers they may take in a tiny amount of profit. So I thought they would be a good idea to put on here. Hope you don't mind!

Sheer Cover Review

I have decided to re-post some of the product reviews I did on my Tumblr. I think they are fun to do and I want to share them! This is a product review for the Sheer Cover Duo Concealer I received in the Influenster Spring Beauty VoxBox.

So this month I was chosen to receive the Spring Beauty VoxBox from Influenster (a website I highly recommend). And within the box, among other products, was this little beauty product which I fell in love with. Sheer Cover Duo Concealer.

I loved this product! It was so light it didn't feel like make-up at all! The make-up goes on very smooth over the skin. I use it under my eyes to mask the bags. Haha. It definitely lightens it up and easily blends into my skin color.
The two different shades are easy to blend together to create the perfect skin color match. Because there are two shades you don't have to get a whole new thing of concealer once you get a tan this summer! You can just use a little bit more of the dark side until you lighten up again. It is really a great feature.

Above are two pictures of my Sheer Cover product, in Light/Medium. As you can see, it has been used. The sample I received is small in size, but even if that is the standard size you don't really need a lot. This stuff packs a punch! And small means it is easy to bring anywhere!
I definitely recommend you try this product. It is a great concealer with a lot of awesome qualities! I received it as a complimentary product through Influenster's VoxBox program, but I will probably purchase some for myself when I run out!
According to the website the concealer is $29.95. Not bad for such a high quality product! Check out this and more Sheer Cover products at www.sheercover.com!
Thanks!

Frustration.

I am so frustrated right now. I can't even get all of my thoughts straight. I try so hard to make plans and get everything right, but for some reason nothing goes my way. I'm sorry for making an emotional rant my third post on this blog, but that's what you're getting. Not that I have readers yet or anything. But anyway, I can't exactly explain what is frustrating me. Only that it is.
And it is effecting all vectors of my life. I just can't think straight! I just want everything to fix itself up but I know it won't. Everyone is stubborn. I am stubborn. I just need people to see my eye to eye. I am twenty years old. And no, that does not mean I'm young and can't do what I want. It means I'm old enough to do whatever I want. I could go live on my own if I truly wanted.
Goddammit I don't know what to do.

Really JIF? Really?

Hey Everyone!

I know this topic might be a bit odd for a second blog post, but it is something that needs to be addressed. This morning I went down to the kitchen for some food and I opened up the pantry doors to see what there was. Now let me preface by saying that we just went food shopping and I had put all the food away yesterday morning. So anything that was new in there was bought last night when I was around. And oh was there something new in there. An abomination, in fact.
That. What the hell is that JIF? You have to go ahead and make Chocolate flavored Hazelnut spread?!? You are not Nutella! JIF, you are a peanut butter company. Peanuts! So stop it. Anyway, I tried a bit of it and it's not bad. A little too chocolatey. Then I realized. Why doesn't anyone make a non-flavored Hazelnut spread? Hazelnut is delicious on it's own. JIF can't do that, they have to try and be Nutella. Which they will never be.

Companies have been copying each other left and right lately. It's as if they want to steal customers away from the brand they have always been faithful too. I have to yell at my Mother for buying this new stuff when there is already something great and wonderful out there. Nice try JIF, but I will only buy your Peanut Butter. Which is delicious and my preferred brand. If the guys who make Nutella tried to make Peanut Butter I wouldn't buy it. So stay off their turf and they will stay off yours.

So, yeah... That was a rant. Sorry about that guys. I may be writing again later today cause I'm stuck in bed being sick. So I'll see you all later!

Much Love,
Jenna

Blogging Again!

Hey Everyone!

I have decided to start blogging again, which is a rather exciting venture. I blogged quite frequently for three years in high school and I miss it, so here we go again! This blog is going to be similar to my blog in high school, a lot about my life and my thoughts. I may also be posting some product reviews when I feel like it as well as websites or TV shows I like. I cannot wait to get started!

First off, a little bit about myself. My name is Jenna and I just finished my sophomore year at Gettysburg College in Pennsylvania. Right now I am home for the summer in Northern Massachusetts. In college, I study Environmental Science and Public Policy. I also love the theatre and writing. I am the child of divorced parents and between their marriage and each of their second marriages, I have seven siblings. I am number two.

I am a Nerdfighter, for those who know what that is. It is wonderful. DFTA. I am also a huge fan of various different TV shows, web comics and books. But you won't see much of that here, you will see it on my Tumblr though if you want to check that out. I love being parts of fandoms, it's super fun! I used to vlog too, as in video blogging, and I may start that up again and link the videos here. But first, I have to fix up my webcam.

I have a wonderful boyfriend named Josh of which you will probably hear a lot about on here. We are in a Long Distance Relationship. While at school, he is two hours away at his college. While I'm at home, it is over a six hour drive. I miss him quite a lot. He is my best friend in the entire world, and I mean that.

Well, I guess that is all you have to know about me for now. Keep watch for some new posts about my life, my thoughts, and much more! See you then!

Much Love,
Jenna
